Job Summary:

The Pet Shop Assistant plays a pivotal role in our pet retail store, supporting daily operations and ensuring an exceptional customer experience. Your responsibilities include assisting customers with their pet care needs, maintaining a clean and organized store, and offering support to the Pet Shop Manager and fellow team members. Key Responsibilities:

Customer Service: Greet and assist customers, answering their questions and providing guidance on pet care products and services.

Animal Care: Provide basic care to the animals in the store, including feeding, cleaning, and monitoring their health.

Product Sales: Promote and sell pet products, such as pet food, toys, cages, and accessories.

Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels, restock shelves, and maintain a well-organized store.

Animal Handling: Safely handle and interact with the animals in the store to showcase their temperament to potential customers.

Cleaning and Maintenance: Maintain a clean and sanitary environment for both customers and animals, including cleaning cages, tanks, and the sales floor.

Educational Support: Offer information on pet care, training, and behavior to customers.

Cash Handling: Operate the cash register, handle sales transactions, and manage cash and credit card payments.

Visual Merchandising: Assist with setting up attractive product displays and store layouts to entice customers.

Promotion and Marketing: Assist in promoting in-store events, sales, and promotions to attract and retain customers.

Online Sales Support: Assist with online sales by managing product listings, customer inquiries, and order fulfillment for e-commerce platforms if the pet shop has an online presence.

Operational Support: Assist in opening and closing procedures, including register setup and security measures.

Team Collaboration: Work closely with team members to create a cohesive and effective workforce, supporting a positive and enjoyable work environment


  • Previous retail experience, especially in the pet industry, is a plus but not required.
  • Passion for and knowledge of pets and their care needs.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining a clean and organized store.
  • Basic cash handling abilities.
  • Ability to work well in a team and support fellow team members.

In the role of Pet Shop Assistant, you'll be an essential part of our pet-loving community, providing valuable support to both customers and the store team while contributing to the well-being of pets and ensuring a memorable shopping experience.

Full-time (Junior) Shop Assistant: 

  • Salary Range: Basic (RM2,000-RM2,500) + EPF + Socso + EIS + Commisions
  • Working schedules: 9.30 am-7 pm, 5.5 days a week (MUST work on Saturday & Sunday)

Key Responsibilities:

Food Preparation: Assist in preparing pet meals according to specific recipes, ensuring accurate portioning and ingredient quality.

Kitchen Hygiene: Maintain impeccable cleanliness and hygiene in the pet kitchen, following food safety standards and cleaning protocols.

Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels of ingredients, notify the team of low supplies, and assist with restocking and ordering as needed.

Quality Control: Assist in quality control processes to ensure all pet meals meet our high standards.

Packaging and Labeling: Package pet meals in a safe and efficient manner, labeling products accurately.

Operational Support: Support general kitchen operations, including dishwashing, equipment maintenance, and organizational tasks.

Team Collaboration: Work closely with the team to ensure a seamless workflow and maintain a positive and cooperative work environment.


  • Previous experience in a kitchen or food preparation role is a plus but not required.
  • A passion for pets and an understanding of their dietary needs.
  • Strong attention to detail, cleanliness, and organization.
  • Ability to follow food safety guidelines and kitchen hygiene standards.
  • Basic knowledge of inventory management.
  • Team-player mindset and the ability to collaborate effectively.

  • Salary Range: RM110 per day (RM10 BONUS per day if able to commit every weekend in a month)
